Sounds like a fish story... J/K man. I know there are some big boys hiding in there. I heard from a buddy that a few guys have been caught taking nates outta there recently. That's the last thing we need is ammunition for them to close it.

2nd street bridge @ snohomish
Now your hole is going to be filled with every a$$hole with in the next 6 counties. Luckily alot of it's banks are private property.

The Pilchuck River will likely close on Feb 16th this year instead of the usual end of February closure. Also, this river will no longer be planted with hatchery steelhead.
Glad I had the opportunity to enjoy this river in the 80's and 90's.

Why no more hatcheries on the chuck? Sucks they're going to close it. It's nice to hit it for a couple hours in the morning.

If a river doesn't have a fish trap to remove the returning hatchery fish, which the Pil doesn't, it will no longer be planted.
This is pretty much the end of the Pilchuck fishery as far as I'm concerned.

I know guys who still catch fish though. I wouldn't say it's done for. I've only heard of 2 guys catching hatcheries anyways. Last year my buddy caught 6 natives in 5 days the first week of feb.
